Rachel Allen, MSN, AGNP-BC, is an Adult Gerontological Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGNP) dedicated to outpatient healthcare excellence. With a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Northern Colorado, Rachel combines academic rigor with clinical expertise. Her four-year nursing career encompasses roles in telemetry, progressive care, emergency medicine, and home health care. Rachel's commitment to patient well-being is underscored by certifications in ACLS, NIHSS, and BLS. She actively engages in professional organizations and is a Daisy Award Nominee and Preceptor for New Graduates. Rachel's holistic approach to care, rooted in empathy and clinical proficiency, embodies her mission to enhance patient outcomes and promote wellness in the community.
Ekua Antwi, NP
Ekua Antwi is originally from Ghana in West Africa. She moved to the United States 19 years ago to further her education. Ekua enjoys helping people and was inspired by her aunt, who is also a nurse, to pursue nursing. She obtained her AAS in nursing from Minneapolis community College and her BSN from Metrostate University both in Minnesota. She has been a nurse for 10 years and finally obtained her MSN - FNP in 2020 from University of Colorado - Anschutz after she moved to Colorado to be with her husband. She is a wife and a mother of 3 boys. In her spare time, she likes to watch movies and spend time with her family.
Kyla Araujo, NP, AGNP-C
Kyla Araujo received her RN/BSN with a minor in Nutrition from the University of Northern Colorado in 2011. In 2019, she received her Adult Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP), Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Walden University in 2019. She has interests in Geriatrics and Internal Medicine.
Growing up, Kyla lived with her grandparents for several years and accompanied them to many doctor appointments and hospitalizations. She witnessed firsthand the impact healthcare professionals have on their patients and their families, and knew she wanted to be a part of healthcare. She loves practicing medicine because every day is different and there’s always something new to learn or teach.
Kyla has lived in Colorado since 1989 and currently resides in Aurora with her three children, one cat, and one dog. When she’s not working she enjoys snowboarding, crafting and home improvement projects, gardening, and all sports. A fun fact about Kyla is that she is from a very small town where the school mascot came in second place for the most unusual mascot in America.
Elizabeth Arbuiso, NP
Elizabeth Arbuiso Britton completed her undergraduate at Roseman University of Health Sciences 2017 and her Masters at Sacred Heart University in 2021. She chose her profession because her parents always pushed her towards medicine, she loves meeting new people, there is great job security, and she loves figuring out the puzzle of clinical signs. Her particular area of interest is geriatrics. Her advice to her patients is this: “You are heard and cared for. We will do everything we can to make you comfortable and get you back on your feet.”
Elizabeth is a Colorado transplant. She was born and raised in Long Island, NY. When she met her husband, they moved to Colorado, where he always wanted to live. They married in 2021, currently live in Highlands Ranch, and are expecting their first child. When not working, Elizabeth enjoys reading and cooking with her husband. She is great at baking bread

Brianna Buchanan, NP
Brianna (Bri) Buchanan completed her BSN in 2017 and her MSN in 2022 from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. Bri’s grandpa always encouraged her to continue with her education and to reach for her highest goals, like becoming an NPP. After her experiences as a bedside nurse she decided she wanted to be an advocate for patients and help them navigate the confusing medical world we live in. She wanted to teach patients how to lead long, healthy lives and avoid hospitalizations.
Bri loves being someone that people can trust with their care and building meaningful connections with her patients. She believes that people are so much more than their medical diagnoses and she really enjoys getting to know what makes them tick.
When not at work, Bri loves paddleboarding, reaching, watching football, working on DIY projects around the house and spending time with her friends and family. She moved to Fort Collins with her family at the age of 3. She attended school in Colorado Springs and started her nursing career in Denver. She then purchased her first home, where she and her husband live in Fort Collins with their English Bulldog, Odie.

Amy Foraker, NP
Amy Foraker has extensive experience as a critical care RN in the perioperative setting on the post-anesthesia care unit at UCHealth Memorial Central Hospital in Colorado Springs, CO. In May of 2023, Amy earned a Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN) and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) in the adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner (AGACNP) pathway at the School of Nursing, Colorado State University Pueblo. Prior to entering the field of nursing, Amy earned a PhD in pharmaceutical sciences at The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH. She served as a scientist for 15 years driving basic research initiatives in several scientific institutions, including the National Cancer Institute at The National Institutes of Health, The Ohio State University, the University of Maryland, the University of California San Francisco, and The Genomics Institute of the Novartis Research Foundation. However, during these studies, Dr. Foraker realized she wanted to be involved in the clinical side of health promotion and disease prevention, which led her to pursue the field of nursing. Amy is a member of the American Nurses Association, the Colorado Nurses Association, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and the Sigma Theta Tau Chapter of the International Honor Society of Nursing. She also completed a fellowship with the Colorado Center for Nursing Excellence HRSA-sponsored Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program. Dr. Foraker currently lives in Pueblo, CO where she enjoys exercising and hiking with friends and family and taking long drives through mountain valleys. Jeff Foster completed his EMT at Red Rocks Community College in 2009. Jeff received his ADN from Lamar Community College in 2013, graduating as Vice President of his class, completed his BSN in 2004 at Western Governors University, and his MSN in 2019 at Grand Canyon University.
Jeff specialized in the adult and geriatric population with foundations built upon trauma, critical care, acute care, and post-acute care. He has a special Interest in acute neurological and in neurosurgical conditions with further interest in chronic cardiopulmonary and renal conditions. Pathophysiology and the biology of the human being is an area in life that will always catch Jeff's attention and his growing ability to map out problems. Jeff emphasizes his care upon the evidence based data within science and research across the paradigm of healthcare in the United States.
Jeff loves the involvement within the academy of medicine and the human connections made with patients and families. His advice to his patients is to “tell us what your greatest concern is at this moment because it may not be what everyone is looking at.”

Julie Girouard, NP, AGCP-C
Julia Girouard is a native of Denver, and her son is a rare 4th generation native of Colorado. Julie received her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Trinity University in Texas where she later became an ER nurse and for 14 years at a level one trauma center. After receiving her Masters of Nursing at University of Texas at Austin and earning her Adult and Geriatric Nurse Practitioner Certification, she spent over a year in both Haiti and the Ivory Coast with Doctors Without Borders providing emergency healthcare for nationals in politically unstable countries.
She has extensive experience providing emergency and humanitarian care for both socially underserved populations domestically as well native and refugee populations at war abroad. When she returned from Africa, she changed the focus of her care to geriatric populations as an internal medicine provider back home in Colorado where she’s been for 10 years.
When Julie isn’t at work, she enjoys spending time brewing beer with her beau and watching her son grow taller in the Colorado sunshine.
Natalie Downing, PA
Natalie Downing, PA-C, is a geriatric physician assistant with approximately 15 years years experience in post-acute and long-term care, assisted living, memory care, clinic, hospice, and home visits. Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, she received her undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder, her physician assistant training at Red Rocks Community College, and her Masters in Medical Science from Saint Francis.
She began her career in Denver before returning to Steamboat Springs, and now lives in Grand Junction. She believes the heart of geriatrics is providing exceptional, compassionate care based on the individual goals of each older adult, and working with families, facilities, and caregivers to achieve those goals and maximize quality of life.

Pathophysiology and the biology of the human being is an area in life that will always catch Jeff's attention and his growing ability to map out problems. Jeff is a Colorado native born on the 5th Floor of Denver General. He currently lives in Littleton with his fiance who is a research coordinator at Denver Health, and his beautiful daughter. In his free time, he enjoys racing bicycles, hiking fourteeners, fishing and kayaking, camping, and getting on a plane to somewhere. Julia Girouard is a native of Denver, and her son is a rare 4th generation native of Colorado. Julie received her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Trinity University in Texas where she later became an ER nurse and for 14 years at a level one trauma center. After receiving her Masters of Nursing at University of Texas at Austin and earning her Adult and Geriatric Nurse Practitioner Certification, she spent over a year in both Haiti and the Ivory Coast with Doctors Without Borders providing emergency healthcare for nationals in politically unstable countries.
She has extensive experience providing emergency and humanitarian care for both socially underserved populations domestically as well native and refugee populations at war abroad. When she returned from Africa, she changed the focus of her care to geriatric populations as an internal medicine provider back home in Colorado where she’s been for 10 years.

Shannon Guyer completed her BSN at Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh and her MSN at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. She has a particular interest in geriatrics and to work in the field because she loved working as an ICU nurse and wanted more autonomy to work with patients. She loves the opportunity to help people through difficult circumstances and providing them with patient education to equip them to live healthier lives. Shannon moved to Colorado in 2022 for her husbands’ job but has come to Colorado every year since she was a kid to ski. She currently lives in Westminster with her husband, son, and their family dog. Jessica Light completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Pennsylvania State University and her Masters in Nursing at University of Pennsylvania. Jessica specialized in Adult Gerontology Primary Care.
She chose to become a nurse practitioner to be an advocate for her patients and to help older adults navigate todays’ complex healthcare system. She enjoys building strong relationships with patients and their families. Her goal is to help patients understand their health and illnesses so that they are directly involved in their individual plan of care. Her approach is to build a team with patients, their families, and their care providers, with her overall focus on the well-being of the patient as a whole, not just treating a disease.
